  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology with Professor Marc van Montague in Ghent, Belgium on the development of Agrobacterium gene transfer to plants. 
  • 18 years with Syngenta, leading a biotech lab and as Head of Regulatory and Governmental Affairs in EMEA. Regulatory topics related to approvals for GM Food & Feed, and GMO Cultivation. Advocacy and external communication was an essential part of the tasks.
  • 15 years with Danisco/DuPont leading the Regulatory Affairs EMEA team, and leading Regulatory activities in Europe focusing on food and feed ingredients legislation e.g. Novel Food, Health Claims, Food additives, Food supplements, Probiotics and Food Cultures.
